Hi there, Lovely People!

There will be an art afternoon aimed at little ones - preschool to early school years - here next week.
Please let me know if you plan to come.  We will be making collage in a box/frame.  A lovely friend has donated twenty beautiful boxes for the project.
Any older or younger children are welcome to come join in, help, or play while the younger ones are busy, but priority will be to the specified age group.

Date: Friday, 14th March
Time: 1pm
Venue: 32b Providence Drive
Bring: stuff to stick in the display box - nature things - eg. moss, sticks, leaves, little toy animals/cars to make a scene, paper or poster for a back ground.  Glue and boxes provided.  We can nip down to the shoe store for extra boxes if necessary.

I will post a picture of the boxes on the blog site so you can get an idea of size.  For ideas, try these links, or google 'diorama':

If you find yourself on Wednesday without any materials, we do have native bush behind our place for a quick nature hunt if necessary.

Please get back to me by Monday.

Thanks!

Kim

Fwd: FW: 2018 YoungBirders Field Camp (YBFC) Expression of Interest Form - Rakiura 16-22 April 2018

Kia ora,

The Birds New Zealand youth camp is running again this year!

It will be held on Stewart Island or Rakiura – Birds NZ is looking for keen participants, aged 13-18 years old (apologies to our members who don't fit this age bracket, but we thought you might be able to share with some people who do?) and super keen on birds.

It will be a truly amazing experience, with lots of learning opportunities, along with conservation work and birding.

So if you are (or you know someone) a keen 13-18 year old, with a massive passion for birds and would love to come on this camp, please fill out the attached form and send it back to Sharon Alderson, salderson@doc.govt.nz

Also, lots of the YBNZ team will be attending, so it'd be a great opportunity to meet each other!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Sharon or myself (George.hobson@youngbirdersnz.com).

Ngā mihi,

George

YBNZ Coordinator

Kia ora koutou –

You are receiving this email as you or someone in your family is a YoungBirder who may be interested in attending the week long Field Camp in the April school holidays, OR because you can share the Camp information with young BirdsNZ members.

Apologies that we are running a little late with the paperwork this year, but we will catch up in the next few weeks.

This email will provide you with enough information for those YoungBirders who are keen to attend this year's camp to apply.

The Camp will be held on Rakiura/Stewart Island and parts of Southland from 16-22 April  (see further details of location and activities at the end of this email)

Cost to participants will be $200 per person PLUS travel costs  to and from Camp.

Note that currently we are engaging with AirNZ to see if we can get a special rate for air travel.

Separate emails will follow with details of logistics etc once we confirm attendance.

Interested YoungBirders (13-18 years old at time of camp) MUST complete the attached form to indicate their interest and return this to me by return email by 5pm 19 February 2018.

Note that this DOES NOT confirm that you have a place at camp, it just gets you on the list for selection.

We will have space for 15 attendees this year – a little more than previous years. If we have more than 15 applicants – there will be a selection process based on the information provided on the forms.

Good morning. I'm emailing to let you know that the Summer Reading Challenge packs are ready for the home school children to collect from the library. If you could please forward this email so the home school families know that would be awesome. Some families have picked them up already but I don't want anyone to miss out.
