Art Lessons for Homeschool Teenagers
A letter from Kirsty ...
To my Artventure Family,
Whether your homeschooling family signed up the day I launched back in 2012, or if you joined just this week for the first time, the homeschool community have been so loyal to Artventure and me. You've sent me your requests, emailed me your kids' incredible artworks, given me feedback so I can grow... I have little artists who are part of the Artventure Family all over the world! THANK YOU for being a part of this journey with me.
One of the requests I often hear is "can we please have more difficult lessons for older kids?". Your requests are important to me so I've been working very hard this year. I've brought in 2 awesome secondary school art teachers (Sue and Wendy, who have combined experience of over 60 years!) and we are now proud to announce that we are launching a brand new library of art lessons for teenagers!! It's called ART EYE DEER and I know you're going to love it.
Here's the current situation... We have 45 lessons in our brand new library (Artventure launched with only 25!) and we're in the process of making many more. We will have hundreds of lessons to choose from (eventually), but at the moment we're still filming, editing and uploading.
I'd like to invite you to grow with me.
As you're a current Homeschool Artventure member, I would like to offer you an EXCLUSIVE, NEVER-TO-BE-REPEATED DEAL. While Art Eye Deer is young, you're welcome to sign up now and never pay full price.
65% OFF FOREVER!!
NEVER PAY FULL PRICE
Here's what you do:
1. Sign up to Art Eye Deer
2. Use this CODE when it comes to pay: GROWWITHME
I can't offer this for too long, so this offer expires on the 31st of December 2018. We will be doing a full launch in January 2019. I understand that you might have friends or family who want to use this discount code, I'm happy for you to share it, including GIFT MEMBERSHIPS (just in time for the holidays!).
If you have any questions, comments or feedback, please click "reply" and share your thoughts with me, I would love to hear from you.
Happy arty days to you, Kim and to your kids/students,
Kirsty xx
PS. This is a "soft launch" (I'm only emailing Homeschool families at this stage) so if you find a crease that needs ironing (ie something doesn't work properly on the website) please email me ASAP. Thanks xx

Subject: Arthur's Pass Outdoor Education
Hi ,
My name is Gemma and I am the manager at Arthur's Pass Outdoor Education Centre.
Earlier this year we had some home school families from Canterbury join together for a camp out here that ran similarly to a school camp. The goal for them was to give the students and parents an opportunity to socialise with others in a similar situation to them while having some fun outdoors. The weekend was very successful and I want to see if you can help me to see if there are other students and families around the South Island who may be interested in something similar.
Firstly due to feedback we have received, in the upcoming school holidays we are looking to launch our first Family Olympics to encourage families to get outside and explore while participating in a bit of healthy competition. This is open to all ages and families and therefore is an opportunity to experience what we have to offer while meeting new people and having a fun weekend.
We will provide food, programme and accommodation over Sat & Sun (2 weekends to choose from). Families will then have the option to extend their stay throughout the week ($30 per adult; $20 per child per night for accommodation only) which will give them the opportunity to participate in some of the free activities that The Department of Conservation will be putting on or they can explore Arthur's Pass and surrounds at their own leisure.
Would it be possible for you to email the poster attached to families who you think may be interested please?
Secondly, we also offer tailor-made programmes and family camps around particular intended learning outcomes and interests if families would prefer. We can accommodate 45 people at a time with the option of having an additional 28 at the Alpine Club depending on room shares. We run programmes all year round and choose suitable activities for the weather conditions. We also have a range of gear such as rain coats, thermals, gloves, hats, sun hats etc. that participants can borrow at no extra charge if they do not own them.
Please let me know if this is something you think your families would be interested in as I am keen to broaden the opportunities for young people to experience the outdoors.
Kind regards,
Gemma Murphy

Fwd: Community Conservation Symposium, 14-15 June (Shantytown and field trips)
Have a look at the programme and see what you think. And I'd be hugely grateful if you could share it with other home-schoolers on the coast. I know some schools are thinking of bringing a few senior students.
Hope you like what you see and can come!
Any questions let me know.
Inger
PS normal rate for the Thursday – main conference day - is $75, students $25. The field trips are half price for students, which isn't shown on the website, but I'll make the deductions.

Hello!
The Community Conservation Symposium, to be presented by the West Coast Penguin Trust, will be held at Shantytown on Thursday 14th June with field trips to local community conservation projects on Friday 15th June and we're hoping you will join us!
Our objective is to support you - community groups and individuals involved in conservation on the West Coast, those hoping to become involved and those with an interest in our natural environment - to learn from experts in their fields, from professionals, scientists and practitioners, and through networking – with experts and with each other.
A packed day of presentations at Shantytown will include a broad range of topics from predator control to fundraising and forest ecology to trust governance. Networking opportunities will be extended through a winter dinner social immediately afterwards, generously sponsored by DOC here on the Coast.
Optional field trips are available the following day and will include Cobden restoration together with a trapping workshop, the kiwi crèche at Moonlight, and a variety of projects up the Coast Road.
The full programme is available here: Community Conservation Symposium 14-15 June 2018 Programme

Students pay just $25 for the main day, and field trips are half price for students.
Please share this with anyone you think may be interested, please make the most of this unique opportunity and we hope to see you there!
Warm regards
Inger

We have experts working on the protection of penguins and seabirds but we need your help to continue our projects that will ensure the survival of these threatened species on the West Coast. You can donate by clicking here. Thank you.
I work part time and variable hours and will respond to emails as soon as possible.
