We wanted to reach out and let you know some info in case you had any families with children interested in coming along to netball.We have the following age groups starting soon:- Year 1&2 Netball - held in the DWC Westland Sports Hub on a Tuesday at 3:30pm - this session is mainly skills & drills with a mini game being played at the end. Session is for individuals ie they don't come along in teams. These will only be for Term 2 - last one on Tuesday 2nd July.- We have our Opening/Fun Day for Year 3&4 and Year 5&6 Netball this weekend (Saturday 11th May) 9-11am at the DWC Westland Sports Hub. There'll be some fun games/skills, sausage sizzle and spot prizes.If you could please pass on to the other Homeschool families in the area, we'd really appreciate it. Fwd: Outdoor Edication opportunity
This message is for people interested in being clients for Tai Poutini Polytechnic students.
People would need to be ages 12 and up. Pick-up and drop-off option from Hokitika for the kayak programme for the week. Rock programme could have some hokitika pick up provided potentially or would need to have transport to an from greymouth daily. We provide all the equipment. Students just need lots of warm clothing, rain gear and lunch. We can take 12 kids each day. If your kids are keen or you know of any kids that would love this opportunity let me know.
Dates are next week Tuesday 16th to Friday 19th and we have space on both our rock and kayaking programme.

It's up to you & any interested party to price/haggle/give/ swap or agree on payment options!
If it's good weather, we will do the Educational Resources Buy/Sell/Swap-meet car boot style so that parents don't have to drag their kids over to the hall or leave them at the reserve.
If it rains there's plenty of room in the hall for you to simply rock up, claim a space and set out your stuff that you want to see gone.
Last time this was held, there were some great resources going for pennies & everyone who came found at least one thing that they wanted!
Details about the running below.
The runners will start going to the racing spot at 10:30...
Please wear shoes as some of the run is on gravel.
The athletic events will be the following long distance options
1km - 5-7 year olds
2km 7-10 year olds
3 km 11 plus.
Sprints
Long jump
Shotput (maybe)
Parent's race.... (!! ;)
Don't worry if you've never done them before! Just have a go and do your best.
The cross country run will go from 10:30 - 11 and then the other events will happen simultaneously with kids splitting up into groups. I'd love parent helpers. If you're keen to help, please let Lauretta know before hand (email below) so that I (Lauretta) can coordinate it and ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.
It would be great if you could register participants before hand. This is not essential but it would be helpful. Names and ages (Parents don't have to register their age :P)

Fwd: Shantytown trip - 14th November
Good afternoon everyone,
We have a trip booked in to go to Shantytown on Tuesday, 14th November.
This trips theme is 'Rongoā'. Rongoā is the traditional Māori healing system that often includes using the medicinal properties of New Zealand native plants.
The children will learn ways of identifying plants and discuss how native plants were used for clothing, craft, construction, and medicinal purposes.
There will be a train ride during the day, and a short bush walk to identify native plants.
The cost is $5.00 per student. Parents and caregivers are free.
Bring a packed lunch along with morning and afternoon tea, and a drink bottle. Pack clothing & footwear appropriate for the weather. This day will go ahead in all weather except for torrential rain.
